Valerie Anne Bertinelli is an American writer and actress. Two-time Golden Globe Award winning star gained notoriety by playing the role in the CBS show One Day at a Time, as Barbara, and Hot in Cleveland where she portrayed Melanie Moretti. She started acting as young teens and later on over the years, became a seasoned character actress. Her relationship with the daughter of a TV producer when she was an infant sparked her an interest in industry of television and she decided to pursue acting professionally. Bertinelli as a teen who studied at the Tami Lynn School of Artists, began working in television. She quickly became popular for her grace, acting ability and her confident style. Her rocky personal life was widely known, as were her battles with drug abuse and other problems. Yet, she fought tirelessly to overcome these and get back to her normal life.
